When someone hurts us, we want to hurt them back. When someone wrongs us, we want to be right. Without forgiveness old scores are never settled.....old wounds never heal.
"Forgiving does not usually happen at once. It is a process, sometimes a long one, especially when it comes to wounds gouged deep. And we must expect some lapses...some people seem to manage to finish off forgiving in one swoop of the heart. But when they do, you can bet they are forgiving flesh wounds. Deeper cuts take more time and can use a second coat." It is important to forgive if we want to be forgiven. You can tell if you have forgiven someone, if you hear there name or you see them and it doesn't bother you. It may take time but we MUST not hold that baggage in our lives! We have to be free in our spirit to be able to hear the voice of God. And the bible teaches in Matthew 5:24 to leave the alter and make things right with our brother and then to offer your gift. When we truly forgive we feel free! When we hold on to unforgiveness it is like a cancer and it separates us from God. We could be doing everything else well and have unforgiveness in our heart. Unforgiveness is a poison.Let me in courage you to search your heart for Unforgiveness. As we walk this final mile let us all draw closer to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.... God Bless TODD J ROSS
