Ingredients vs. the Final Product

Romans 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."  When I was a kid (my wife thinks I still am a kid, but that's another subject), and my mother was making a cake, I knew it would taste good.  That sounds pretty obvious.  But let's analyze the situation:  four eggs to start off... a few cups of flour... some baking soda... vegetable oil... a cup of sugar (if you are a cook, you have probably figured out that I AM NOT by now)... you get the picture.  Raw eggs sound pretty nasty to me; a cup of flour by itself would be very distasteful and difficult to eat, and to consume baking soda would be a trial for sure.  But the key word to consider is TOGETHER... these things TOGETHER make something good.  Remember, life will be full of ingredients, but focus on the finished product (I remember reading that "He who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Christ") - God is the master chef; a divine culinary artist who is actively mixing just the right amount of each ingredient in our lives.  Which ingredient are you facing at this time?  He knows how much we can bear.  When it is mixed just right, it has to be cooked just right; remember when the cake was in the oven and you could smell it with watering tastebuds?  You just wished you could take it out and partake... but alas, you had to wait. Doesn't the Lord encourage us in Isaiah 40:31 "But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; They  shall run, and not be weary; And they shall walk, and not faint."?  Maybe God is putting the finishing touches on this season of your life and soon you will be out.   I believe that the key is to remember the word TOGETHER and not to focus on the ingredients, but on the finished product.  I pray that you have a blessed day in the LORD.
